Buses
Dolmuş are minibuses, and have a route sign, usually in the front windscreen. They run on fixed routes, usually between popular destinations and are most frequent during rush hours. You can board and alight at any point along the way; paying the driver via passengers seated at the front of the vehicle. There are fixed fares depending on the route you have travelled.
Dolmuş (minibuses) leave from beside the post office every half an hour or so from 09.30 in the morning and they will take you to the main places in the Dalyan area. There is a timetable on the dolmuş station wall. It is a 20-minute journey to Iztuzu Beach.
If you wish to go further afield you will have to travel to Ortaca where the coach station (otogar) has frequent services along the coastal routes in both directions. Services may be reduced in early and late summer.
Taxis
Taxis are everywhere and still the most convenient way to get around.
Taxis are reasonably priced however, to avoid any difficulties, always make sure that the taximeter is turned on and running at the daytime rate, when gündüz will be displayed. Between midnight and 06.00 an extra 50% is levied and the meter will display gece.
Boat Taxis
Boats to Turtle beach leave from the co-operative in the harbour from around 09.30 onwards, returning between 13.30 and 18.00. Boats leave on demand however, and services can be greatly reduced in early and late summer.

Besides running daily services to Iztuzu Beach, the co-operative boats also offer half-day excursions along the shore line of Koyceğiz Lake. The lake is a favourite nesting ground for cormorants. The boats also call at Sultaniye. This excursion should be booked the previous day. The boat departs at 14.00 and returns at 18.00. Take swimsuits.
Banks, ATM machines
Banks are open from 09.00 to 17.00 and some close from 12.00 to 13.30. Some banks are open on Saturday morning.
There is one bank in Dalyan – Iş Bankası on the main roundabout in the town centre. It has an ATM and there are several other ATMs in the town centre.
Post Office
The Post Office is situated on the High Street which runs parallel to the river and has a large sign which says PTT. You can change money here as well as buying stamps and making telephone calls.
